Miami, Florida (Hexa PR Wire — May 7, 2026) —
Karen Leos joins The Michael Peres Podcast to discuss Optical LAN and why network infrastructure is often missing from sustainability and long-term building strategy conversations. Leos, vice president of global sales and professional services at Tellabs, explains how Optical LAN differs from copper-based enterprise networks and why connectivity choices can affect both operational performance and environmental footprint, especially in large facilities.
In the episode, Leos discusses where Optical LAN can offer advantages in environments such as airports, hotels, campuses, and government sites, including how fiber-based architectures can simplify deployment and reduce ongoing lifecycle complexity. She also explains how CIOs and facilities leaders can evaluate total cost of ownership beyond initial installation, factoring in power consumption, maintenance, space requirements, and long-term scalability. The conversation draws on her experience across IT, global support, and technical services and emphasizes how infrastructure decisions influence day-to-day reliability as well as future expansion.
